Clubs and Societies
Hilton Art Club
We are a friendly group of people who simply enjoy painting. We meet in the mornings on the third Friday of each month during term times at Hilton Village Hall and sometimes out on location in the summer. We also have occasional tutorial workshops led by professional artists (non-members welcome for a small charge). Art books and videos/DVDs are available for loan to members.
New members are encouraged and all abilities are welcome, using any medium (watercolours, acrylic, oil, pastel, etc.).
Further information is available at www.hilton-village.com under Clubs and Societies. To find out more and to get in touch, see the Calendar and Contacts pages. You’ll also find examples of members’ work, plus lots of additional information such as updates on our activities, photos, art matters of interests, local exhibitions etc. on our Facebook page. Alternatively, contact Diana on 01480 410, or Gina on 01480 830696.

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts
For those who think Scouting’s had its day then we suggest you think again! Whether you are 6 or 66 there is bound to be something you can get involved in! Across the UK there are over 40,000 children waiting to join and all that’s needed to make that possible is more adult volunteers……
Boys and Girls
Our Scout Group currently has a Beaver Colony (Beaver Scouts aged 6 to 8), a Cub Pack (Cub Scouts aged 8 to 10 ½ ) and a Scout Troop (Scouts aged 10 ½ to 14). We also have up to 2 Young Leaders in each Section (Explorer Scouts aged 14 to 17). Every week 80 to 85 boys and girls aged 6 to 14 take part in fun adventure and the adults have a great time too We would like to open another of each Section, and simply need enough adults to come forward to do so.
Adults
Why should the youngsters have all the fun?
The great thing about Scouting is volunteering to help is always about what you can do not what you can’t, so there is certain to be a role for you. We appreciate that some adults will be able to offer only a few hours once a year whilst other may feel able to help for several hours each week. Equally some adults prefer to work directly with the young people whilst others may prefer more of a background role.
You don’t need any previous experience or even any connection with our Scout Group. Full training and support is given. Leader training is externally recognised, and scouting roles can enhance any CV.
Please consider making a difference to your local community by sharing the most precious thing you can – your time.
Hilton Women’s Institute
Hilton WI members enjoy participating in village activities and community life. We gain friendship, fun and self-improvement from our organisation
Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7.30pm, in Hilton Village Hall.
There is an active craft group and a book club. We also arrange outings, cinema and theatre trips, informal lunches, classes and other activities for members and friends.
Hilton WI is part of a wider network, the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI) which is the largest women’s organisation in the UK.(www.womens-institute.org.uk).
Within this network there are 70 county federations with Hilton WI belonging to the Huntingdon and Peterborough Federation, a group of 64 institutes altogether.
