In addition, there are 2 pubs and a large recreation ground. The name Comberton dates from the Anglo-Saxon period and means “Cumbra’s Farm”. The village is mentioned in the Domesday book and probably dates from well before 1086. Comberton today is a mix of historical and thatched houses along with modern estates enjoying its own sense of community, as well as the proximity to all the facilities of Cambridge.
