Stairway to Successful Selling

I discussed how important first impressions can be, so from the front door we move into the hallway. This is the first room people see when they enter your home so it is very important to create a welcoming  and uncluttered space.

The hallway is the most used traffic area of the whole house. Farrow and Ball, the paint specialists, have a hallway inspiration page on line

They suggest any redecoration should begin here and have a series of photos to help to inspire you with colour to create warmth and space.

Once you have decided on a colour, think how you could possibly improve the hall by adding simple storage solutions that can contain any clutter. Coat hooks are very inexpensive and can be decorative, a shoe and boot rack can help organize all the families footwear.

Mirrors  are a very good addition as they reflect light and give an illusion of space in even the smallest of hallways. A lamp on a small consul table, alight for evening viewings, makes for a welcoming atmosphere, especially in a small and dark hallway.

Finally as a last touch, what about a new doormat and a cheerful rug? If you make an effort with first impressions it could ensure that your buyer is in love with your house before they have set foot into the living room.
